Why did you choose The Woods?
Being an international student, I chose The Woods because everyone made me feel at home. I felt valued on my campus visit as I was welcomed by many students and professors from the science department. I also chose The Woods because I have played soccer all my life and was so happy to continue one of my greatest passions in college. Finally, I decided to go to SMWC, as I consider it a holy place because of Saint Mother Theodor Guerin. As a Catholic, I was excited to attend a college where virtue and knowledge united are valued.
What do you do for fun on campus?
On campus, my friends and I love to go on bike rides to see the horses. We also like to go to the gym and work out in Club ’64. Something I love to do for fun is get involved on campus. I am a chemistry lab assistant, a library assistant, a science department tutor and I work at the front desk of Le Fer Hall. The campus offers so many jobs for students!
What do you like about living in Le Fer Hall?
I love living in Le Fer Hall for many reasons. Firstly, Le Fer Hall is the most beautiful and picturesque building on campus. Secondly, it has become home to generations of Woodsies, and I am so proud to be a part of the traditions and ongoing legacy. Lastly, I love the calm environment around Le Fer. There is nothing better than doing your homework in the serene and peaceful nature outdoors.
What advice do you have for freshmen?
My advice to the freshmen would be to get involved at The Woods and to pay it forward.
Reflect on your time at The Woods:
Looking back on my time at The Woods, I am blessed to have had so many opportunities. From conducting my research in genetics to being a resident assistant, and a captain on the women’s soccer team, I have made lifelong memories and friendships I will cherish for a lifetime.
